Have you ever wanted to create a stunning graphic or social media post but just didn’t have the design skills??? Well, let us FINALLY introduce you to one of our favorite blogging tools: Canva!

Canva is a user-friendly design platform that allows you to create posters, graphics, wallpapers, social media posts, and so much more with ease. What’s great about Canva (and one of the reasons we LOVE it SO MUCH!) is that you don’t have to be a graphic design whiz to use it, as it provides you with pre-made templates and a variety of design elements to work with.

Even more, Canva comes packed with features designed to make your editing more efficient, such as grouping elements. This can help keep your spacing precise when moving elements or duplicating them easily. However, some users may find this feature a bit complicated to use at first, but don’t worry, once you get the hang of it, it’s a HUGE time saver.

So today, we will be delving more into the world of Canva by discussing group elements on Canva. Here’s everything you need to know:

How To Group on Canva: Intro

How To Group on Canva

Step 1: Select the objects you want to group

The first step to grouping elements in Canva is selecting the objects you want to group. This is done by holding down the “Shift” key on your keyboard and clicking on each element you want to include in the group.

Step 2: Click the “Group” button

Once you’ve selected the objects, simply click the “Group” button located in the top toolbar. The button looks like two rectangles overlapping each other. You can also group objects by using the shortcut key “Cmd + G” on a Mac or “Ctrl + G” on Windows.

Step 3: Maximize the group feature

Now that you’ve grouped your objects, you can perform several actions with them. You can move them around your design as one entity, resize them together, or rotate them as a group. This makes grouping ESPECIALLY useful when creating logos, icons, or other graphics with multiple elements.

Step 4: Ungroup objects if needed

If you need to edit or modify one of the elements in your group, you can easily ungroup them by selecting the group and clicking the “Ungroup” button located in the top toolbar. This will separate the elements, allowing you to edit or modify them individually.

Step 5: Group on Canva Mobile

If you’re designing on the go, fear not! You can also group elements in the Canva mobile app. Next up is a step-by-step tutorial on how to group on Canva mobile app.
